Why did I start this... For the last 12 years since my first daughter was born I have been blessed to be able to stay at home and raise my kids. My husband played hockey in the NHL and I was both willing and happy to take a back seat to the dreams I might have had to allow him to follow his. I am so proud of all that he accomplished and even prouder of the 4 amazing kids we are raising.

When my husband retired it was both amazing and HARD! We struggled to find a new normal and revelled in having him home for every holiday and special moment. Through this process I started to see that it might be fun to have something of my own. I can honestly tell you I NEVER thought I would open a clothing store. I HATE shopping. Sounds silly I know, but here I am, opening a clothing store with my little sister, who is one of my best friends!

My heart told me I should go out and try to help women. I know what it feels like to have no confidence in yourself. I also know that when I dressed the part, a little piece of me lit up and tiny step by tiny step I started to come out of my shell and tinier step by even tinier step I started to understand that beauty is not about what others might think of me or say about me... it's about what my heart looks like on the inside. If I can help just one woman feel a tiny glimmer of her true beauty I will count myself honored.

The name FOUR is for my four beautiful children. Isabella, Elizabeth, Alexander and Gabrielle. I hope that by doing this I teach them what it looks like to have a heart of compassion and to have fun and be kind. I also hope I teach them to follow their dreams, even if they don't look like what you thought they would.

Family is a big deal to me and I wouldn't be able to take on this challenge without the support of the people closest to me. My amazing husband (who built ikea cabinets, lugged boxes and shuttled trailers full of stuff around for me...), My Kiddos (who will most likely be in the store with me at any given time), My sister Alli (who is the one with the retail experience and keeps me from diving back into my comfortable sweats and hiding at home), My mom (who is the best grandma in the world and allows me to focus on things outside the house knowing my kids are safe and fed), and my dear friends (you know who you are girls... thanks for not letting me fall apart).

The summer we opened my dad died unexpectedly. One of my dearest friends said to me "I just always saw your dad serving others... he never seeemd to mind it either". He didn't. Ever. I hope to carry that on and serve people like he did. Dad, this adventure is for you.

It has always been my dream to open a women’s clothing boutique - for as long as I can remember I have wanted to create a place where women could play dress-up and create their dream closet. Once I began working retail my love for fashion and helping women achieve the look they desired only grew. It is an incredible thing to have women leave the store feeling confident and beautiful in their own skin. We all know nothing can make a girl feel quite as good as a new outfit (well, maybe a fresh new hairdo too). When my sister approached me with the idea of opening a boutique, she was helping me fulfill a life long dream.  I was honoured and equally excited to enter into this venture with her. Our mutual passion for helping people, encouraging women, and a slight obsession with organization, we knew we would make the ultimate team.

I was born and raised in Moose Jaw,SK. I completed my education in Phoenix, AZ but knew being that far away from my family just wasn’t an option so in 2012 I made Edmonton my “home”. I come from a very close family with two older sisters and the most amazing and supportive parents who have been by my side whenever i needed them. Meeting Chad changed my life forever - I had found the man of my dreams and falling in love with him meant an even larger family to call my own. His parents have been huge cheerleaders and supporters of ours and I inherited three more sisters. Together we have 8 beautiful nieces and one perfect nephew. In May 2014 my world and heart changed forever when we welcomed our baby boy into this world. Being Grayson’s mommy just made me strive even more to be the best version of myself that I could be.

Shortly before my dad passed away (unexpectedly and very suddenly) this summer he told me how proud he was that two of his girls were following their dreams and working as a team to create the store that we both envisioned. He told me he loved our big hearts and couldn’t wait to be our “stock boy”.  Unfortunately he will never get to fill that role so both Stacey and myself have vowed to embark on this adventure in honour of the greatest man we have ever known. While staying true to who we are with the attempt to make this world just a little better than we found it.

I can’t wait to meet you all.

When the ladies asked me to join their team, I didn't have to think about my answer. I was excited that these two super cool girls thought I was cool enough for FOUR!

I love to support local business and I've always been drawn towards beautiful, quality clothing. There is something truly amazing about the power a women conveys when putting on a great outfit.  I discovered the fun of shopping at a very young age. From the moment I learnt how to walk there was no stopping me, I would grab my Mom's high heels, put them on and stomp around the house announcing that I was "shopping" and thus my nickname became  "Betty-Shopper" and...well not much has changed since then.
Being a FOUR girl gives me so much joy in helping others find great clothing that makes them feel empowered and beautiful!

I'm Sarah. To put a face to my name, you've probably been greeted by my enthusiastic and high pitched "Hello" or "Hi There" upon coming into the store. Truth be told I am just super excited to meet all of you! I'm a huge advocate for local businesses and the incredible people who dedicate their time to make them happen. There's truly nothing better than feeling comfortable and confident in an outfit, and with the environment the girls have created at FOUR, this is a common feeling. I definitely have a weakness for unique, quality clothing and always love to encourage women to try on things that may be out of their comfort zone, because more times than not... it looks absolutely beautiful on them. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Can I let you in on a little secret? I agreed to start working at FOUR as a way to escape my full-time job, which is being a mom to 4 of the loudest, most incredible, talented, beautiful, and time consuming humans on the planet. ;) Being a mom is no joke! Truthfully, I think all of us moms enjoy our shifts at the store when we get to spend time interacting with other adults and enjoying the (relative) peace and quiet!

I consider it a privilege (and a whole lot of fun) to work with this team of amazing ladies, and I love having the chance to meet so many of you as you pass through our doors. My hope is that you love visiting us as much as we love helping you when you do!
